Libby L.: "I love this experience, and I have learned a lot. I want to play a part in this as long as I can. The youth have to keep this going. We're helping the community. And we're all just one community."

What is TIME?

TIME is the Tucker Interfaith Mission Experience, a nonprofit, youth-driven, home repair outreach mission project run by local Tucker, Georgia youth and adults. These participants give a week of their time, expertise, and energy into the replacement of roofs in the Tucker community.

While building roofs, these participants build character, a sense of community, and a stronger relationship with God, homeowners, and their fellow workers.

This year TIME will be roofing houses during the week of June 17-22, 2011. We often ignore the fact that poverty exists in our own backyards. It's TIME to help. As we help with these physical needs, we build stronger relationships within our community.

Tucker Interfaith Mission Experience takes faith out of our churches and into the community. Since 2007, TIME has been changing Tucker one roof, one youth, one life at a TIME. It's TIME for a change, and we hope that you will consider sharing this mission with us.

Participants

Opportunities. There are many different participant opportunities for youth and adults, both on rooftops and on the ground, before, during, and after the intensive week of TIME.

To find out more about these opportunities to serve your community and to make new and lasting friendships, see "Opportunities to Serve" for Youth Participants and Adult Participants.

Sponsors

Needs & Opportunities. Without the generous assistance of corporate sponsors, TIME would never be able to serve the needs of elderly and low income families in the Tucker community. In return, sponsors not only get the pride from helping their community, but TIME uses their logos on its banners, t-shirts, advertisements, and other outlets. Contributions to TIME are tax-deductible because TIME is an IRS Section 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. For more information, please see our Sponsor page.

Stockholders

"Stockholder" Opportunities. We've discovered that many caring individuals want to be a part of TIME but are unable to volunteer, due to age, disability, other commitments, distance from Tucker, or othe reasons. Other people simply want to support the work of youth volunteers who may be their grandchildren, nieces or nephews, students, or neighbors.

"Stockholders" play an essential role in TIME, purchasing one or more shares of "stock" in the work being done and receiving in return a certificate, the thanks of grateful youth volunteers, and the pride of being part of a community project.

Purchasing "stock" is as easy as contacting TIME, a friend or family member who is a TIME participant, or through this website. For more information, please see the Stockholders page.

Please note that TIME is a nonstock, nonprofit corporation, and that "stock" is just a term that means a person has contributed financially to the work of TIME. TIME's "stock" does not confer any financial, ownership, or voting interest in Tucker Interfaith Mission Experience, Inc.

Homeowners

Homeowners are a blessing to us by letting us be a blessing to them. The eligibility requirements to have your home re-roofed by TIME at no cost to you are discussed on the Homeowners page. In the past three years, TIME has re-roofed twelve local homes.

Learn about TIME and the various ways you can support this outstanding youth-driven outreach mission to the Tucker community.

Here's everything you need to know about the opportunities available to serve your community and make new friends through TIME.

Although TIME is youth-driven, there are plenty of opportunities for adults to serve the mission, both on the roof and on the ground. Can you help cook and serve meals one day a week, or chaperone one nights' sleepover? There's a place for you.

Please bless us by helping us bless you through TIME. This section has details and all the contact information you need to see if your home is eligible to be re-roofed as part of the TIME mission.

TIME couldn't serve the community without the generous support of sponsors, who provide building supplies, food, t-shirts, and financial and other support. Best of all, you know your contribution is going straight to work in the local community.

Did you say you can't hammer a nail and don't have time to serve a meal? You can be an essential part of our project by helping support a grandchild, neice or nephew, neighbor, friend, or other youth through the purchase of "Stock" in TIME's work.

See the story of TIME as told through by photograph, television report, and newspaper commentary. Please contact the webmaster for copies of photographs from 2008 and 2007.

In 2009, three churches and one school (from San Diego!) participated in TIME through their youth programs, and the gifts and prayers of their congregations and members. If your church, school, or group doesn't participate, don't worry. Individual youth who are not a part of a participating church or school are encouraged to be a part of TIME 2010, too.
