Sallie Warren, Stockholder: "I especially like the fact that the program tangibly benefits my neighbors and people right in my own back yard, not just those receiving new roofs but all of the young people as well as adults who have the opportunity to work directly on the roof installations."

Emma C.: "What I remember most about TIME is how good the popsicles taste after a day on a hot roof. Cold popsicles are a good feeling -- almost as good as the feeling you get from seeing deserving people who lack a necessity like a roof get such happiness."

What Is A "Stockholder"?

"Stockholders" in TIME do not actually own a "share" of stock in a corporation. TIME is a nonprofit, nonstock corporation incorporated under the laws of the State of Georgia. TIME uses the term "Stockholder" to mean that you have a stake in the charitable work of TIME through your financial contribution and not that you have an ownership interest of any form. None of us involved with TIME, whether officers, members of the Board of Trustees, or volunteer participants has any ownership or financial equity interest in TIME. We just love our work.

However, Stockholders receive a certificate indicating their status as a "Stockholder" of TIME, as well as the heartfelt thanks of youth and adult volunteers and the families whose homes and lives have been changes by your generous and kind donations. Gifts to TIME as Stockholder are tax deductible, because TIME is a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code.

Adult Participants

Although TIME is youth-driven, there are plenty of opportunities for adults to serve the mission, both on the roof and on the ground. Can you help cook and serve meals one day a week, or chaperone one nights' sleepover? There's a place for you.

TIME couldn't serve the community without the generous support of sponsors, who provide building supplies, food, t-shirts, and financial and other support. Best of all, you know your contribution is going straight to work in the local community.

Stockholders

Did you say you can't hammer a nail and don't have time to serve a meal? You can be an essential part of our project by helping support a grandchild, neice or nephew, neighbor, friend, or other youth through the purchase of "Stock" in TIME's work.

Participating Groups

In 2009, three churches and one school (from San Diego!) participated in TIME through their youth programs, and the gifts and prayers of their congregations and members. If your church, school, or group doesn't participate, don't worry. Individual youth who are not a part of a participating church or school are encouraged to be a part of TIME 2010, too.
